You Can Make a Difference!

Are you passionate about genealogy and eager to dive deeper into the world of family histories? The Anne Arundel Genealogical Society is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team!

Whether you're skilled in research, adept at organizing events, have a knack for digital archiving, or have mad computer skills, we have a spot for you. By volunteering with us, you'll not only contribute to preserving and sharing our heritage but also gain invaluable experience and knowledge in genealogical research.

Why Volunteer?

  • Connect with Like-minded People: Join a community of our members, where you can share insights, learn from others, and make lasting friendships.
  • Enhance Your Skills: Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of genealogical research and project management. It's an excellent opportunity to hone your research skills and help improve the society.
  • Make an Impact: Your work will contribute to expanding our understanding of history, connecting families, and preserving our collective heritage for future generations.

We're Looking For:

  • Finance Committee Volunteers: Add your voice to this valuable committee. Do you have a background in accounting or budgeting? Help steer AAGS's finances as we work on a multi-year plan.
  • Newsletter Volunteers: Oversee the creation and distribution of the society’s newsletter, ensuring timely and engaging content for members. Volunteer writers are also needed!
  • Research Volunteers: Dive into historical records, help solve genealogical mysteries, and contribute to our research projects.
  • Event Coordinators: Assist in organizing workshops, seminars, and gatherings that bring our community together.
  • Digital Archivists: Help digitize, organize, and make accessible our collection of genealogical records.
  • Computer Aficionados: Apply your software and hardware skills to support everything we do.
