Genealogy Circle Meeting -- Using the Enoch Pratt Library's African American Department for Genealogical Research

Visit the African American Department to learn how we can support you in genealogical research. We will have many items of interest on display for you to view.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • Descriptions of online resources that we are prepared to guide you through using insights from several instructional books in our collection, most of which are available to check out.
  • Collection items that contain biographical data, including the Funeral Program Collection, biographical dictionaries, Query and Vertical Files, files of Sharp Street Memorial United Methodist Church, etc.
  • Availability and usefulness of genealogical journals, slave narratives, local histories, and family histories in the collection.

Join Christine Iko, Librarian in the African American Department, on Saturday, September 19th, and plan to stay after to get the most out of this valuable collection!

This program will not be streamed live and recorded for those unable to attend in person.
