The cemetery formerly belonged to Edward Methodist Chapel, founded in 1895 and was named for Luther Palmer, a local businessman who sold the land to the church in 1897.  
The church sold the land in 1983 and renamed itself St. Andrews. Twenty-six of the graves were moved.
The cemetery is associated with St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Gingerville
