The graves were discovered on the site of the former Prospect Methodist Church, which was built in the mid-1840’s.  Ezekiel Bell was one of its founders.  The church dissolved at the beginning of the Civil War when parishioners’ loyalties became split.  The occupants were re-interred at Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church in Odenton.  A photograph of the tombstone is on file.  Elizabeth Bell, nee Jones, the widow of Ezekiel Bell died 21 May 1869.  Mary Catherine Bell, the daughter of Ezekiel Bell, died 21 May 1865 or 1869.
