The location of the Mewshaw homestead is shown in the 1878 Atlas of Anne Arundel County as just north of Lightstreet Road, now Quarterfield Road. The cemetery was about 2/3 acre and was shown on a State Highway Administration map sometime prior to 1994.
Only seven stones were found in 1990 and only two stones were found in 2004.
There are four versions of inscriptions in the files leading to some confusion as to the correct inscriptions. Some of the stones are fieldstones.
