This cemetery was located “on the old Ridgely-Worthington estate (in 1908) divided into several holdings owned or leased by small farmers.”) A rough, cellarless cottage was built by a Scottish immigrant around 1892 on the site of the family graveyard (prior to 1880) atop the graves and many footstones remained visible under the floor of the house. Henry Ridgely’s stone served as the cottage porch step and was broken in two places from wagons driving over it. His tombstone was moved to the churchyard at St. Anne’s in Annapolis in 1899.

Founders of the Colonial Families of Ridgely, Dorsey, and Greenberry,of Maryland by Helen Ridgely Evans, 1935 as on the joint plantations of “Waldridge” and “Broome”.
A descendant, Thomas C. Worthington, and his father who knew the cemetery’s location, were unable to find it by 1938. He indicated that the family fell on hard times during the Civil War, which led to their inability to maintain the family graveyard.
